2009 Bentley Brooklands Review
The 2009 Bentley Brooklands is a four-seat premium luxury coupe. It comes in only one trim, but of course, it's loaded with standard features. These include 20-inch wheels, xenon headlights, a navigation system with a back-up camera, Bluetooth, massaging front seats and power-reclining rear seats. Buyers can turn up the decadence a notch with the Mulliner option, which includes your choice of various exotic leathers and wood, carbon fiber or aluminum veneers. Custom exterior paint finishes and badging can also be had. Presumably, the only limitations here are your imagination and your credit limit.

Powertrains and Preformance
The Brooklands has a 6.8-liter twin-turbo V8 backed by a six-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift mode. Rated at 530 hp and 774 lb-ft of torque, this frighteningly potent power plant blasts the burly Brooklands from zero to 60 mph in an estimated 5 seconds. EPA fuel economy is listed at 12 mpg city and 20 mpg highway. The 2009 Bentley Brooklands' interior is classically British with a few modern highlights. The ability to customize the interior with a vast array of hand-finished leathers and wood veneers will please buyers who covet an exclusive passenger compartment. By utilizing the rear-cabin structure of the Arnage sedan and power reclining rear seats, the Brooklands provides ample amounts of passenger room for a coupe.

Summary
Thanks to the mountains of torque and hp generated by the twin-turbo V8, the mammoth 2009 Bentley Brooklands can accelerate with the authority of a sports car. The suspension does a worthy job of isolating the cabin from road noise and pavement irregularities, while the steering provides a good amount of feedback to the driver. When it's pushed down a twisty road at an enthusiastic pace, there is still little doubt that you are piloting a vehicle that's nearly 3 tons, but the Brooklands maintains enough composure to minimize the drama.

2010 Bentley Continental GT Review
The 2010 Bentley Continental GT is fast and powerful. Its 552 horsepower and 479foot-pounds of torque is enough for this vehicle to reach 202 mph. The Gt can now use E85 gasoline, or any type of gasoline that uses a combination of gas and alcohol. A Quick shift ZF automatic six-speed transmission is new. This transmission will cut off the gas momentarily so that torque will be reduced and shifting occurs faster.

Exterior
The 2010 Bentley Continental GT is equipped with exterior features that you would expect from a vehicle that costs more than many peoples houses. The Continental GT comes with Bi-Xenon headlights with headlight washers, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and 19-inch wheels. This Bentley is available in a wide variety of colors; if you do not like the available colors for the current year, you can purchase your Bentley in one of the colors from previous years, for an additional cost. In the back you will find the power opening and closing trunk.

Interior
Inside the 2010 Bentley Continental GT, drivers will find standard features like a trip computer, Sirius satellite radio, a gloveboard-mounted six-disc CD changer, Bluetooth compatibility with voice dialing, and DVD navigation. Both the front and rear seats have memory and are heated. Leather bucket seats come standard. The interior materials of this Bentley are all superior, with wood and leather being primarily used. Car reviews written on the Continental GT tend to agree that this is a well-made vehicle.

Summary
Bentley vehicles seem to belong in a class all of their own, and the2010 Bentley Continental GT is no exception. It is built to drive fast, but unlike Lamborghinis and Ferraris, which produce stripped down vehicles in order for their vehicles to go fast, the Continental GT does not give up on luxury. The Bentley may not be able to hit 60 mph from a stop in under three and a half seconds, but for a slight trade-off in acceleration, buyers are able to get a vehicle that is a lot more luxurious, and a lot more comfortable to ride in. Auto reviews find the Bentley Continental GT to be an alternative to hardcore sports cars;Forbes says that the Continental is a well-rounded alternative to similarly priced, hardcore exotic sports cars.

2008 Bentley Continental GT Review

With twin-turbocharged W12 power, the finest materials furnishing the cabin and a powerful, bulldog-like presence, the Bentley Continental GT and the higher-performance GT Speed have few peers. Combining effortless performance with an interior that is the epitome of the coachbuilder's art, the Continental GT is a prime example of a grand touring-oriented exotic luxury coupe.

Walkaround
The Continental's standard engine is a 6.0-liter, twin-turbo W12 that pumps out 552 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque and sends its power to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. With a 0-60 time of just 4.4 seconds, a quarter-mile performance of 12.8 seconds and a top speed approaching 200 mph, the Continental GT is a supercar in every sense. And that supercar became even more super for 2008. The Continental GT Speed is the most powerful automobile Bentley has ever produced, with horsepower on the twin-turbo W12 boosted up to 600 and torque a whopping 553 lb-ft.

Summary
As one might expect, the Bentley Continental GT comes loaded with practically anything you could want in a luxury touring coupe. Standard feature highlights include 19-inch wheels, four-zone climate control, xenon headlights, adjustable suspension damping, 14-way power front seats, a navigation system and a 300-watt, 12-speaker audio system. In addition to its more powerful engine, the GT Speed gains 20-inch wheels with 13 dual spokes, darkened chrome mesh grilles (upper and lower), diamond-stitch leather upholstery, three-spoke steering wheel and other upgraded interior trim.

2008 Bentley Continental Flying Spur Review
Updates are minor for the 2008 Bentley Continental Flying Spur. Technology upgrades include a DVD-based navigation system (versus CD-based), Bluetooth phone connectivity and an optional rear-seat telephone. Customers will now be offered an almost endless choice of colors with Bentley's new exterior paint-matching service, while the number of interior veneers has been increased to seven. The new Mulliner Driving Specification package gives the Flying Spur a more sporting character, with 20-inch wheels and special diamond-quilted leather. Picking among ultra-luxury sedans like the 2008 Bentley Continental Flying Spur is like to trying to decide which Rat Pack member to spend a night out on the town with. With each possessing so much style, class and downright coolness, picking your favorite basically boils down to personal preference. Consider the Flying Spur the Sammy Davis Jr. of this elite segment that also consists of the Rolls-Royce Phantom, Maybach 57, Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG, and eventually the Aston Martin Rapide. Like Sammy, the Bentley has style and class, but it can also dance, with all-wheel drive and an adjustable air suspension that make it feel much more agile than its 5,456-pound curb weight would suggest. Essentially the four-door version of Bentley's Continental GT coupe, this big sedan exhibits impressive handling and poise that set it apart from its ultra-luxury competition.

Walkaround
In terms of pure luxury, ride quality and presence, the Flying Spur does lose some style points to the Rolls-Royce and Maybach, but with a price tag that's more than $100,000 cheaper, there's bound to be some trade-off. Nevertheless, only the world's most spoiled individuals will complain about the Continental's elegant interior crafted of the finest materials. The overall look certainly gives the impression of a German take on classic British design (Bentley is owned by Volkswagen), with a logical control layout and meticulous fit and finish. There's also enough Northern European hides and veneered lumber to make you feel like you're sitting in Prince Charles' private den, or make vegan environmentalists picket the Flying Spur's parking spot. It'll be able to escape them pretty quickly, though, as the twin-turbo W12 engine's 552 horses can haul the Spur's hefty mass up to a top speed of 195 mph. Huge brakes that are almost 16 inches in diameter resist fade and bring the big Bentley back to zero with impressive composure.

Summary
This hefty Bentley sedan is spurred along by a twin-turbocharged version of the Volkswagen Group's W12 engine. It produces 552 hp and 479 pound-feet of torque starting at a low 1,600 rpm. Mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, this high-tech power plant hustles the 5,456-pound Flying Spur from zero to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. For those in the market for an ultra-luxury sedan (lucky you), the 2008 Bentley Continental Flying Spur provides the requisite levels of high-end luxury while adding a surprising amount of on-road competence and fun. If that's an important quality, then perhaps choosing among this Rat Pack class of vehicles just got easier.

Although the Bentley Azure convertible was originally designed for old-money, old-world types living in Lake Country chateaus, more than a few Azures have found their way into the hands of West Coast superstars and MTV hip-hop videos. Of the previous-generation Azure, sold from 1995-2003, it's said that fewer than 1,500 were sold. For 2009, Bentley is reintroducing the Azure. Where it was once based on the old Continental, this time the Azure is related to the current Arnage sedan. Of course, the Arnage isn't exactly the pinnacle of modern design, but Bentley's engineers have done considerable work to make it suitable for topless duty. The Azure's new structure is dramatically stiffer and promises better road isolation and handling ability. Also updated is the engine. As in other 2009 Bentleys, the 6.8-liter V8 gets a new set of twin turbochargers this year and a 450-horsepower output. Also significant is the move to a six-speed automatic transmission, a welcome upgrade over the old four-speed. Fuel economy, blunted by the car's approximate 3 tons of mass, still barely manages to rise into the double digits, however. The Azure's interior is unmistakably Bentley. Generous helpings of burl walnut wood create a unique appearance as soft leather cossets the two front thrones. Expect less comfort for the rear pair. And expect frustration when trying to operate the unfriendly and unattractive audio and navigation controls -- the side effect of imposing modern technology on an old-fashioned cabin design. Fortunately, restoring the smiles is as easy as powering back the Azure's enormous fabric roof.As expected, normal shopping advice doesn't really apply to the $337,000 2009 Bentley Azure. If you've got the financial backing and like the car's image and prestige, you certainly don't need validation from us. Still, were it our choice, we can't help but think that Bentley's own Continental GTC and its 102 extra hp and better-engineered and 500-pounds-lighter chassis makes it a vastly more compelling drive. Alternately, it's probably worth waiting a bit for Rolls-Royce's Phantom Drophead Coupe to arrive, as it will be the Azure's only true competitor. Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options The 2009 Bentley Azure is a four-seat, soft-top luxury convertible. It comes in only one trim, and standard fare includes a power-operated cloth top 19-inch wheels xenon headlights power-adjustable front seats and steering wheel with three-position driver memory tri-zone climate control a six-disc CD changer DVD navigation and front and rear parking sensors. Bentley also offers plenty of customization for wheels, badging and interior materials, as well as two stages of stereo upgrades from Alpine and 39 color choices. Powertrains and Performance All 2009 Azures use Bentley's long-running 6.8-liter V8, which evolves for 2009 with twin turbochargers that spool up faster than the former units. It's mated to a new six-speed automatic transmission (with manual shift mode) that drives the rear wheels. With 450 hp and a prodigious 645 pound-feet of torque, acceleration is forceful and the 6,000-pound Azure has no difficulty charging to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds by Bentley's count. Safety Bentley secures the Azure's four occupants with full-sized side thorax airbags front and rear, antilock brakes, traction control, stability control, front and rear parking sensors and roll bars that deploy from behind the rear seats. Interior Design and Special Features The 2009 Bentley Azure continues the classic English fashion of beautifully finished leather and wood surroundings arranged for a classic old-world feel, and the extensive selection of carpets, wood and hide colors leave ample room for a personal touch. The impression of unfettered luxury is somewhat spoiled by cheap-feeling switchgear, a steering wheel that can't telescope and aesthetically mismatched stereo and navigation systems that are difficult to use. Such are the complications of installing modern electronics in an interior that was never designed with such t

Bentley has added a new performance model to the Continental Flying Spur range for 2009. The new Flying Spur Speed shares its twin-turbo 600-horsepower 6.0-liter W12 engine with the Continental GT Speed. The 2009 Flying Spur Speed is touted by Bentley as its most powerful four-door model ever. Rated at 553 pound-feet of torque and mated to a ZF six-speed automatic transmission, the uprated 12-cylinder engine propels the Flying Spur Speed from zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, enabling a top speed of 200 mph.Of course, the "entry level" Continental Flying Spur is no slouch. The standard 6.0-liter W12 produces 552 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. The 0-60-mph sprint takes only 4.9 seconds, and top speed is a still impressive 195 mph.The Flying Spur Speed has some additional hardware tweaks and features designed to set it apart from its more mundane sibling.Stiffer shocks, springs and bushings have been fitted, along with thicker front and rear stabilizer bars. The self-leveling air suspension drops ride height by 0.4 inch. The Servotronic steering system has been retuned to improve response and feedback. Pirelli P Zero performance tires are mounted on new 20-inch multispoke wheels finished in bright silver or dark tungsten. The Speed edition has subtle exterior design cues, including grille and air intakes in dark chrome as well as wider tailpipes. The Flying Spur Speed can be custom ordered with the Mulliner Driving Specification, which bundles drilled alloy pedals, 20-inch two-piece alloy wheels, a gearshift lever in knurled chrome and leather, diamond-quilted leather on seat facings and door panels, an indented leather headliner, embroidered Bentley emblems in the headrests and a choice of burr walnut and piano black veneers. The standard Continental Flying Spur hasn't changed much for 2009. It gets a few discreet exterior modifications and adds such features as a 1,100-watt Naim audio system and optional radar-based adaptive cruise control.

What's New for 2008
The Continental GTC convertible undergoes minor changes for 2008, including a new optional three-spoke sport steering wheel, revised stability control with Sport mode, and an improved Bluetooth system. Few things can compare in elegance to a stately Bentley convertible. Maybe Princess Diana in a couture gown emerging from a stately Bentley convertible. Yet in the early days of Britain's second most prestigious marque, Bentleys were also considered to be among the world's best high-performance machines. In fact, James Bond author Ian Fleming could think of no better car for his rugged secret agent to drive than a 1933 Bentley supercharged convertible. The 2008 Bentley Continental GTC combines these two historical brand facets perfectly. It's certainly got the elegance thing down. Imposingly graceful styling brings together a modern shape with classical Bentley design cues like the dominant grille and squared-off rear fenders. The sumptuous interior is similarly old-meets-new-world in design, with 17 available leather colors and multiple veneers. Buttons and switches are made of real metal, vent controls feature push-pull chrome knobs and the central clock is made by world-famous timepiece-maker Breitling. The soft-top roof (or "hood" in Brit-speak) is available in seven colors and beautifully hushes the cabin even at the highest speeds. The performance part of the equation is in no short supply, either. A 6.0-liter twin-turbo 12-cylinder pulses from underneath the chiseled hood, arranged in the unique W formation parent company Volkswagen turns to for its most powerful, prestigious products. The Continental's W12 delivers 552 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Tipping the scales at 5,500, the GTC needs every horse available, yet still manages to sprint up to 60 mph in a neck-snapping 4.8 seconds. The Continental's bulk and less-than-communicative steering don't make for exceptional handling, but its well-sorted adjustable suspension lends a keen ability to thunder down a lightly winding country road or Monte Carlo boulevard with immense confidence, certainly in keeping with the historic Bentleys that so enticed Mr. Fleming.Few vehicles live in the vaunted price stratosphere occupied by the 2008 Bentley Continental GTC. Fellow Brit Aston Martin DB9 Volante is of particular note, offering stunning styling and a more sporting driving experience, while lacking some of the Bentley's stately elegance. The Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG is also worth noting, as is the future Maserati GranTurismo convertible. Yet vehicles like these are more about passion than spreadsheet comparisons. Because if rolling like Lady Di or the original 007 is your cup of first-class Darjeeling tea, then the Bentley Continental GTC is the one and only choice.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The 2008 Bentley Continental GTC is a four-seat convertible available in one feature-laden trim level. Standard features include 19-inch wheels, an adjustable suspension with four settings, a power convertible roof, bi-xenon headlights with high-pressure washers, dual-zone automatic climate control, 14-way power heated front seats, full leather interior in 17 off-the-shelf colors, a removable windblocker, keyless ignition/entry, power latching doors, a navigation system, Bluetooth and a 12-speaker stereo with satellite radio and a glovebox-mounted six-CD changer.Optional features include 20-inch wheels, a rearview camera, massaging front seats, a three-spoke sport steering wheel and power-opening trunk. There are also a variety of special-order options known as Mulliner Features that range from upgraded veneers and deep-pile carpet to specialized exterior paint colors.

Powertrains and Performance
Underneath the Bentley Continental GT's hood is a 6.0-liter twin-turbo 12-cylinder engine arranged in Volkswagen's unique W formation. Paired to a six-speed automatic and all-wheel-drive, this engine produces 552 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. Bentley estimates a 0-60-mph time of 4.8 seconds -- not bad for a vehicle that weighs 5,500 pounds.

Safety
Standard safety features on the Bentley Continental GTC include stability control, traction control, antilock disc brakes, side airbags and a pop-up rollover hoop system.

Interior Design and Special Features
Open the door to the 2008 Bentley Continental GTC and you'll find a cabin drenched in real metal accents, classy veneer and supple leather. The interior has an old-world feel, with push-pull vent controls, a Breitling timepiece and lots of switches and levers made of real metal. This being a Bentley, there is tremendous attention to detail. You'll find that even the car's exterior mirrors are circled with chrome bezel, and seatbacks are graced with sleek, brushed aluminum release levers. Plus with its 17 available interior choices and the customizable nature of ordering a Bentley, a Continental buyer can make their cabin a truly special place.Despite being a soft-top convertible, cabin noise remains hushed with the roof raised. When it's lowered, the cabin remains placid even at speeds of up to 50 mph with the windows down. Raised, things can remain quiet up to 80 mph. To hush things even further, the standard chrome-and-aluminum windblocker can be installed across the rear seats. Speaking of the aft quarters, there's an OK amount of room for two passengers, but don't count on any four-person cross-country treks. The trunk is equally small (8.3 cubic feet), although it is at least larger than the DB9 Volante's luggage area.

Driving Impressions
The Continental GTC handles with a confidence that allows it to feel buttoned-down during even the boldest of driving maneuvers. By choosing the stiffest of the car's four suspension settings, body roll can be all but eliminated, even around tortuous turns. Despite the car's 5,500-pound curb weight, acceleration is never less than bracing, though the Continental GTC's heft prevents it from offering the outright sporting feel of a DB9 Volante. Instead, the 2008 Bentley Continental GTC woos drivers with the kind of serene, well-planted ride Bentley buyers expect. Endowed with all the opulence you'd expect from a Bentley, the 2008 Continental GTC is the right choice for buyers seeking a drop top that places the emphasis squarely on elegant luxury.

Pros
Unquestionable elegance, beautifully crafted interior, structurally sound with a wonderfully composed ride, minimal cabin wind intrusion, highly customizable.

What's New for 2008
The 2008 Bentley Continental GT Speed is a new higher-performance edition of the Continental GT coupe featuring a more powerful 12-cylinder engine, standard 20-inch wheels and different exterior and interior details. Few things can compare in elegance to a stately Bentley. Maybe Cary Grant in a Brioni tuxedo emerging from a stately Bentley. Yet in the early days of Britain's second-most prestigious marque, Bentleys were also considered to be among the world's best high-performance machines. In fact, James Bond author Ian Fleming could think of no better car for his rugged secret agent to drive than a 1933 Bentley supercharged convertible. The 2008 Bentley Continental GT Speed combines these two historical brand facets perfectly. It's certainly got the elegance thing down. Imposingly graceful styling brings together a modern shape with classical Bentley design cues like the dominant grille and squared-off rear fenders. The GT Speed sets itself apart with a larger, dark-finished grille and 20-inch 12-double-spoke wheels, while the sumptuous interior gains diamond stitching to its seats. The rest of the cabin is much the same, sharing the regular GT's old-meets-new-world design, graced by 17 available leather colors and multiple veneers. Buttons and switches are made of real metal, vent controls feature push-pull chrome knobs and the central clock is made by world-famous timepiece maker Breitling. The more sporting GT Speed looks particularly fetching with machine-turned metal trim in lieu of veneer. The Continental's performance part is driven home further for 2008 with the addition of the GT Speed model. The regular model's 6.0-liter twin-turbo 12-cylinder that pulses from underneath the chiseled hood has been upgraded to 600 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque from 552 and 479, respectively. This upgrade wasn't accomplished by simply turning the turbo boost dial up to 11; rather, all engine internals were re-engineered to reduce mass, including the pistons, connecting rods and even the timing chain. The result is a transformation from "fast for a big car" to downright quick, with the GT Speed capable of reaching 60 mph in an estimated 4.3 seconds. However, that could be a conservative estimate on Bentley's part, as the last regular Continental GT we tested did the 0-60 sprint in 4.4 seconds. There's more than just added muscle to the GT Speed as well. The steering was revised to feel noticeably lighter, yet offer more feedback through the new three-spoke sport steering wheel. This steering tweak, along with standard 20-inch wheels and a revised self-leveling air suspension, result in a Continental that's capable of overcoming the consequences of having so much weight slung over the front axle. The GT Speed is still too large to be considered a canyon carver, but its keen ability to thunder down a lightly winding country road with immense confidence is certainly in keeping with the historic Bentleys that so enticed Mr. Fleming.Few vehicles live in the vaunted price stratosphere occupied by the 2008 Bentley Continental GT Speed. Fellow Brit Aston Martin DB9 is of particular note, offering stunning styling and a lighter, more tossable body, although it lacks the GT Speed's massive power. For that, Aston counters with the related (and more expensive) DBS coupe, which is the current ride of the cinematic Bond. The Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG is also worth noting, as are the more expensive Ferrari 612 Scaglietti and the upcoming Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. Yet vehicles like these are more about passion than spreadsheet comparisons. Because if rolling like Cary Grant or the original 007 is your cup of high-speed Darjeeling tea, then the Bentley Continental GT Speed is the one and only choice.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The 2008 Bentley Continental GT Speed is a premium luxury coupe available in one loaded trim. Standard equipment includes 20-inch wheels, bi-xenon headlamps, an automatic extending rear spoiler, keyless ignition/entry, power latching doors, power opening/closing trunk, a full leather interior available in 17 off-the-shelf colors, diamond-stitched seat upholstery, alloy foot pedals, multizone automatic climate control with rear-seat controls, 14-way power front seats with memory, Bluetooth, a navigation system and a 12-speaker stereo with satellite radio and a glovebox-mounted six-CD changer.Options include carbon ceramic brakes, front seat massage, a heated steering wheel, rearview camera, upgraded veneers and special-order interior and exterior colors.

Powertrains and Performance
Powering the 2008 Bentley Continental GT Speed is a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged 12-cylinder formed in the unique W formation Volkswagen utilizes for several of its most prestigious products. Rated at a magnificent 600 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque, the big 12-pot sends its thrust to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. Bentley estimates a 0-60-mph time of 4.3 seconds.

Safety
This ultraluxury coupe offers standard safety features like stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, side curtain airbags for front and rear passengers and front and rear parking sensors.

Interior Design and Special Features
The Continental GT's interior has an old-world feel, with classy veneer, supple leather, push-pull vent controls, a Breitling timepiece and lots of switches and levers made of real metal. This being a Bentley, there is tremendous attention to detail. You'll find that even the car's exterior mirrors are circled with chrome bezel, and seatbacks are graced with sleek, brushed aluminum release levers.Double-pane side glass blocks wind noise and helps keep the cabin as quiet as a reading room. Interior controls are relatively intuitive, and most drivers will be able to function within the cabin without cracking the owner's manual. There's room for two passengers in back. Don't expect an abundance of headroom, since the Continental GT's sloping rear deck and window results in some compromises in this area. There's ample room for groceries and cargo in the 13-cubic-foot trunk. Both trunk and rear-seat space are significantly greater than that of the Aston Martin DB9 and DBS.

Driving Impressions
The laws of physics were drawn up to prevent things as massive as the 2008 Bentley Continental GT Speed from traveling so quickly. With 600 hp being dropped onto the pavement through all four tires, this 5,200-pound Bentley manages to counteract gravity by accelerating with tremendous thrust. The brakes do a similar job -- just in the opposite direction. That weight and taut chassis makes it feel secure when tested on corners, a trait that also owes a debt of gratitude to the car's adjustable and automatic air suspension system. Unlike the regular Continental, the new GT Speed is a much more capable handler, with sharpened steering and better sorted suspension tuning. The result is a car that feels less nose-heavy, even if it didn't actually lose any weight, and one that's more capable of keeping up with more sporting GT cars. The 2008 Bentley Continental GT Speed delivers the same combination of style and prestige as the regular GT coupe, but adds in a wallop of horsepower and better driving dynamics to make it a more thrilling ride.
